St. Thomas More, English lawyer and social philosopher, served Henry VIII as Lord High Chancellor of England. He passionately opposed the King’s divorce from his wife and his attempt at reforming the Church of England. For his courage and his defense of the Truth, he was beheaded. He is the patron saint of lawyers and his feast day is June 22.
