Known as the patron saint of those suffering from headaches and bodily ills, St. Teresa of Avila endured malaria, paralysis, and a coma. By praying to Saint Joseph, she was able to regain her health and became the first female doctor of the Church, producing notable doctrines about mysticism and prayer.
