Description 

This Paidrin Beag (Irish term for "Little Rosary") is a replica of the single decade rosary beads used during the the penal days of Ireland in the 17th and 18th century when openly practicing the Catholic Faith was penalized by the Protestant rulers. This rosary was made to be easily concealed and each decade is prayed by moving the ring to the next finger. The rosary consists of 11 oval shamrock green beads for the Our Father and 10 Hail Marys attached to an "Penal Cross" with a ring on the other end. Includes card with instructions and meanings of the penal cross which depicts various symbols of the passion.
