Tomie dePaola has been one of our favorite children's book authors since our oldest kids were toddlers. His gift for storytelling and simple, but truly beautiful artwork have a way of bringing the reader and listener into the experiences of the characters. You will find many of Tomie de Paola's books at your local library, but his Catholic books are sometimes a little harder to come by.

The story of Christopher's quest to discover truth and his bearing of the Christ Child is told in a way to appeal to young and older audiences. This would make for a lovely read aloud book, that could be read as a bedtime story.
