Description

The Caravaca Cross is named for a city in Spain where a miracle occured in the 13th century. While the city was controlled by the Moors it is said that the Muslim ruler asked a captured Catholic priest to demonstrate the conscretation of the eucharist. When the priest remarled that there was no cross present, one appeared in the window carried by a pair of angels. The muslim ruler was so amazed that he converted to Christianity.

The Caravaca Cross is a Patriarchal Cross (a cross with two horizontal bars) with an image of Jesus on the upper bars of the cross flanked by two angels with the word "Caravaca" written on the lower bar.
