St. Gerard was an Italian lay Redemptorist who is known popularly today as “The Mothers' Saint.” He is regarded as the patron of mothers, mothers-to-be and those wanting to become mothers because of a miraculous incident in which his prayers and blessings once saved the lives of a mother and infant dying in childbirth.
The front of this full-color, illustrated card depicts St. Gerard in a Redemptorist habit, holding a crucifix and the back contains a prayer for women who want to be a mother.

O good St. Gerard, powerful intercessor before God and Wonder-worker of our day, I call on You and seek Your help. You who on earth did always fulfill God’s design, help me to do the Holy Will of God. Beseech the Master of Life, from whom all paternity proceeded, to make me fruitful in offspring, that I may raise up children to God in this life and heirs to the Kingdom of His glory in the world to come. Amen.
