Have a special intention weighing on your heart? Ask St. Joseph to “sleep on it.”
As the earthly father of Jesus and the spouse of the Blessed Mother, St. Joseph is a powerful intercessor for those of us here on earth. He will entrust our petitions to God on our behalf.
This richly colored and earth-toned resin statue depicts St. Joseph sleeping peacefully- long-associated with the saint’s extraordinary obedience and trust in God. It was through a dream that Joseph accepted his role as the attentive and tender guardian of the Most Holy Family (and of all of us!)
Pope Francis himself has a great devotion to this depiction and even has a statue of a sleeping St. Joseph on his desk. He said: “Even when he is asleep, he is taking care of the church! So when I have a problem, a difficulty, I write a little note and I put it underneath St. Joseph, so that he can dream about it! In other words I tell him: Pray for this problem!”
