St. Francis and St. Clare both appear on the pater beads of this rosary. San Damiano crucifix has on the back in Italian: "The Lord bless thee and keep his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee..."
This basic rosary honors both of our faithful saints from Assisi. St. Francis began the Franciscan order of monks for men, and Clare, one of St. Francis' first followers, established the Order of Poor Ladies, now known as the Poor Clares. The two remained lifelong inspirations to each other, and their examples of piety, humility and poverty still instruct our lives today. Their images occupy opposite sides of the Our Father beads on this attractive brown wood rosary with silver medal links. A silver medal replica of the San Damiano Cross ties the piece together with a nod to this important relic of the two orders.
