Description

Made in Italy, these double-sided medals feature clear images and a sturdy ring to slide through your favorite chain or cord. This medal features the image of Saint Maximilian Kolbe on one side with the words "Padre Kolbe" and on the reverse is the image of Our Blessed Mother with a Child reaching his arm out to her.

Saint Maximilian Kolbe was a Polish Franciscian Friar who was sent to Auschwitz during World War II. St. Maximilian stood up for injustice to the point of volunteering to die in place of a stranger by starvation. He is famous for saying, "For Jesus Christ, I am prepared to suffer still more."

Saint Maximilian Jolbe's feast day is August 14th and he is the patron of drug addicts, political prisoners, eating disorders, families, journalists, prisoners, and the pro-life movement.
