Description

Tomie de Paola has been one of our favorite children's book authors since our oldest kids were toddlers.  His gift for storytelling and simple, but truly beautiful artwork have a way of bringing the reader and listener into the experiences of the characters.  You will find many of Tomie de Paola's books at your local library, but his more Catholic books are somtimes a little harder to come by.

Brother Francis of Assisi by Tomie de Paola features stories from the life of Saint Francis as well as Saint Clare, in chronological order. Each 2-page spread contains the story from the life of Saint Francis, with an accompanying illustration.  This would make for a lovely read aloud book, that could be picked up and read a few pages from each day.

Brother Francis of Assisi by Tomie de Paola is hardback and 48 pages.  Recommended for ages 7 and up, but the beautiful artwork will appeal to even younger children as part of an introduction to their Catholic faith.
