Description

According to legend, Christopher's given name was Reprobus and was a man of great size and strength. He encountered a hermit who instructed him on the Christian faith. The hermit suggested that Reprobus use his strength to help travelers cross the river.

One day a child arrived to be carried across the river. Reprobus took the child upon his shoulders, but as he crossed the river, the child grew heavier. The child revealed that he was Jesus and answered that he was heavy with the weight of the world's sins. When they reached the opposite bank, Christ then baptized Reprobus in the river and gave him his Christian name “Christopher”  which means "Christ-bearer."

This silver medal with blue enamel features this legendary image of St. Christopher carrying the Child across the river, reminding you to be a "Christ-bearer" to all those you encounter.

Available in singles or bulk packs of 25! Chain sold separately.
