Our Lady of Perpetual Help Medals

Our Lady of Perpetual Help Medals are miraculous works of art like the Byzantine icon that inspired them. Pope Pius IX prayed before this image of the Virgin Mary looking directly at the faithful as a boy. It was called the Stella Maris, or the Star of the Sea, in the Middle Ages, a sign of hope and guiding star for Christians. The image inspired him to crown the Mary further with the title, Our Lady of Perpetual Help on June 23, 1867. All medals in this collection are made of 14-karat gold, and are finely crafted copies of the original icon.
