Yes, this book has a wonderful self-guided retreat leading up to consecration, but I want to talk about everything else in this book too.
Introduction: Not to be missed, the introduction explains how the book works and why Marian consecration can be a game-changer in how we live our Catholic Faith.
Week 1:
St. Louis de Montfort was the first great prophet of Marian consecration. This week you will learn about the saint and parts of his Marian teachings.
Week 2:
St. Maximilian Kolbe was consecrated to Mary and a student of St. Louis de Montfort's teachings. This week we get to know the man and how he expanded on de Montford's ideas.
Week 3:
St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta put Marian consecration into action, helping us see what a deep relationship with Christ could look like.
Week 4: St. John Paul II was called "The most Marian Pope" and refined the idea that "it's Mary's role to lead us into the mystery of Christ's redeeming love and self-consecration to the Father."
The final five days and day of consecration give us words to ponder and prayers to prepare ourselves for the consecration.
The
appendices are extremely valuable as well. The first is filled with prayers, while the second details the mysteries of the rosary, scapular devotion, the Miraculous Medal, the Chaplet of 10 Evangelical Virtues, and the
Chaplet of the Seven Sorrows of Mary.
